Our Practice
Dr. Mark Mathews
Dr. Mark Mathews, Optometric Physician, attended North Georgia College and the University of Georgia in the years 1968-1971. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1975. He is a Board Certified Optometric Physician who has been in private practice in Port Richey since 1981. Prior to 1981, Dr. Mathews was on staff at St. Luke's Cataract and Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs, Florida from 1977-1981. He holds licenses to practice in Georgia and Florida. He has lectured to optometrists at the Southeastern Optometric Congress in Atlanta, Georgia and several times while on staff at St. Luke's for continuing education hours.
Dr. Mathews loves playing the French horn. He is a member of the Richey Community Orchestra and the Hernando Symphony Orchestra. He has been a member of the New Port Richey Rotary Club since 1982. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Central Suncoast Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Gordon Thomas
Dr. Gordon Thomas graduated with a B.S. degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston in 1977. He is a Board Certified Optometric Physician who has practiced with Dr. Mathews since 2002. Dr. Thomas was on staff at St. Luke's Cataract and Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs, Florida from 1984-2002 and prior to that was in private practice in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and Holyoke, Massachusetts. During the years he has practiced as an optometrist, he has examined patients in Azerbaijan, Peru, Morroco, Armenia, Mexico, and Honduras on eye mission trips with Medical Ministry International and has done a general mission trip to Guyana South America with Lutheran services.
He is presently a member of the Second Time Arounders Marching Band of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Community Band and plays the tuba and euphonium. He is past president of both his church council at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and the Clearwater Evening Lions Club and has been a Lions member since 1977. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, the Central Suncoast Optometric Physicians, and Medical Ministry International.

Lotti
Lotti is one of our front desk personnel and has worked in our office over 19 years. She can make appointments for your eye exam or contact lens evaluations and answer many of your questions about insurance coverage.

Bunny
Bunny is our newest front desk person. She checks patients in and out, gets authorizations, and handles billing for services. Bunny has worked in the accounts receivable and customer service areas for many years.

Pam
Pam has been a licensed optician since 1995, but has been in the optical field since 1990. She is ABO and NCLE certified. She has been employed at our office over 6 years and has experience working in the optical lab, with contacts, the dispensary, and helping with the doctor's workups.

Milly
Milly has worked in our office for over seven years. She is a licensed optician in Florida and also is ABO and NCLE certified. She has experience working in the dispensary, optical lab, contacts, and doctors' workups.

Jamie
Jamie has been in the optical field since 1999 and has worked in a corporate environment and in small private practices as well. She has experience in doing doctors workups, inventory, scheduling, dispensing of glasses, frame selection and measurements, lab work, and contact lenses.

Beth
Beth is a Florida Board certified optician. She is ABO and NCLE certified as well. She has over 30 years experience in the optical field and is presently the manager of our optical department.
